Just over a month ago, I had the honor and pleasure of photographing the wedding of Sara and Roger. We originally met in August at a small pavilion in Olney near their home. Sara and Roger had planned a small outdoor wedding of close family and friends, expecting a sunset and fall colors as the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.
Hurricane Joaquin had different plans.
The storm rolled into town the very weekend Sara and Roger were to be married. (Ever the jokester, Roger said that he had gotten new boots because, you know, "these boots were made for Joaquin.") I had my fingers crossed that the storm would be on its way out before the ceremony. But in its wake, the storm had left cold, windy weather and a rain-soaked pavilion.
So where did Sara and Roger tie the knot? No place other than their home, a condo just down the street from the pavilion. While I can't imagine that Sara grew up dreaming that her wedding would take place in her condo, she graciously and beautiful rolled with the change. With flowers, candles, and plenty of love, Sara and Roger had a touching ceremony. And now they have their wedding-day story.
Congratulations to the newlyweds, Sara and Roger.
