I am excited to announce my new photography class now available at Columbus Idea Foundry in Franklinton, Ohio. The course is called "Camera Techniques and Skills," and it's a follow-up to my original "Camera Crash Course."
In Camera Techniques and Skills, I'll help you refine your focusing and exposure triangle skills. We will start will several exercises that explore important skills like depth-of-field and motion blur.
In the second part of class, we'll move on to technical features like white balance, metadata, JPEG vs. RAW, and the histogram. We'll discuss how these technical features can improve your photography and help you reflect on the choices you've made while creating photos. We'll also discuss camera lenses and how your lens affects your photo's perspective.
In the third and final part of the class, we'll discuss important composition techniques. We'll move beyond the technical aspects of your camera and begin working on the creative choices we make as photographers.
Camera Techniques and Skills is a class for someone who has the foundation knowledge and skills with how to properly focus a camera and how to manually manipulate the exposure triangle. You don't have to be a pro with those skills, but the terms and features on your camera should be familiar.
This new class is for geared towards a camera with full manual mode. A DSLR or Mirrorless camera is ideal. (If you can change lenses, then you probably have a DSLR or Mirrorless camera.) If you're not sure whether or not your camera is right for this class, just email me at email@example.com.
