Perfect Ways to Display Your Photos

Updated: Nov 26, 2021

I have a special post for you today. I have teamed up with Your Garage Guys, an organization and storage company here in Columbus, to bring you great ideas for displaying your photos.

As you know, I am all about printing your photos. So are the great people at Your Garage Guys. Check out their ideas below. And don't miss their example photos for inspiration!

In this day and age, people have access to an unlimited number of photos. Most people carry their phones everywhere they go and, with your phone acting as a basic point and shoot camera, it is so easy to pull out and document the most random moments. Perhaps your child just learned a new trick and you want to remember it. Or maybe you come across a spectacular sunset on your evening walk. Whatever it is, you almost always have the ability to take a picture.

The problem lies within the fact that those pictures stay on your phone. It is convenient to have them so readily available, but who wants to scroll through to find that perfect picture every time?

What about the pictures you get that are professionally taken? Everybody loves to look at your wedding pictures or your family pictures that get taken every so often. Are they stored on a digital file somewhere? Or are they tucked away in a box under the bed?

While getting pictures taken is important, seeing them is so much more meaningful. That’s why you take pictures in the first place, right?

Printing your pictures is the way to go. Deciding which pictures to print can be a little intimidating at first. However, if you do a session with a photographer like Aaron Taylor, then he'll walk you through the entire process, step-by-step. He knows what kind of paper looks best for each photo and how to build a stunning gallery wall. Aaron Taylor will even make sure your frames and wall art are installed properly. And if you happen to get digital files, be sure to ask your photographer where the best place is to get prints of your pictures. The print shop can make all the difference!

Hanging pictures on your wall brings memories to life. They turn your house into a home. Get those pictures and frames out of your closet, or if you haven’t already, spend a few hours printing files and fitting them in frames.

A beautiful picture display is one that doesn’t look too cluttered. Just because you have hundreds of pictures doesn’t mean they all need to live on one wall. The art of picking and choosing a wall can be tough, and it definitely has a small learning curve to it.

A good place to start is the living area and family room. This is an area that most guests will see. This way, you can show off your favorite pictures without venturing too far.

To keep it simple, you have two options for displaying pictures: the traditional method (with a nail or some command strips) or setting frames on built in shelves. The method you choose will ultimately determine what picture layout you end up with.

Here are a few examples of what beautiful, organized living spaces might look like after hanging up a few pictures:

Always feel free to look online for inspiration and get some layout ideas. Aaron Taylor has some great ideas and takes phenomenal pictures!
